More than 90% of Easter Seals Sierra Nevada's revenue supports direct services for children and adults with disabilities and special needs in Northern and Central Nevada.

In the fiscal year ending August 31, 2004, 1,093 people were served. Services addressed the needs of children and adults who were disabled at birth or through injury or illness experienced later in life. Combined functional expenses of $1,614,409 were allocated to:

  • Direct Program Services - 92%
  • Public Education - 2%
  • Management and General - 5%
  • Fund Raising - 1%

Major services in Northern and Central Nevada included:

  • Job Training
  • Service Coordination
  • Life Skills Training
  • Micro-Enterprise Program
  • Family Support
  • Post Polio Support Group
  • Information and Referral

In addition, in-kind donations are made through local agencies for distribution to children and adults with disabilities and special needs. These include suitcases for children in emergency care, child and adult clothing, and related items. Because of the difficulty in tracking individuals who benefit, numbers served through the program are not included in the service statistics above.
